Blazer Tuesday!
Hey there!
Julie's at a debate competition tonight so it's just me today... But I'm going to talk about both of our outfits just for kicks and giggles!
I wore my favorite floral t-shirt paired with my Calvin Klein blazer. With my skinny jeans and new brown riding boots. Funny story about "my" shirt, it fits me like a crop top, but my mom and sister share it with me. My sister Claire not so much anymore now that she's off at college, but my mom still steals it occasionally. It just goes to show, you should totally invest in shirts from Anthropologie. The riding boots I got semi-recently black Friday shopping with my sister. Trust me, not an easy purchase. Special thanks to Claire for spying them for me!
Julie is wearing a navy and heather grey blazer made of a jersey type material. She paired it with light brown skinny chords a navy t-shirt and her black motorcycle boots. The boots are my favorite part of the outfit because she uses them creatively. She took an outfit that could be considered more classy and toughened it up with the "bad" vibe the boots give off. A definite winner for me!
In other news, let's talk about nail polish! For Christmas my lovely Mother and my dad's fabulous girlfriend Michelle gifted me exorbitant amounts of OPI nail polish! And in all my favorite colors! (from left to right- Gargantuan Green Grape, Rainbow Connection, Black Cherry Chutney, Blue My Mind, OPI Top Coat, and another Black Cherry Chutney) The Rainbow Connection is the one I'm wearing in the picture, it's from OPI's collection designed around the new Muppet Movie! (Which is one heck of a movie and I highly suggest it to anyone who wants to see a heartwarming kid's movie)
Best wishes for a Classy Weekend!

Angel
Today for your listening pleasure we have Angel by Matt Nathanson. (lyrics and song can be found here)
At first glance Nathanson seems like just another artist, not yet overly famous (currently opening for Kelly Clarkson on her "Stronger" tour) even at 40. However, upon closer inspection Nathanson's career has been fought with success. Even with several singles cracking charts (Faster, Come On Get Higher) mainstream Matt Nathanson songs are still few and far between. Which is quite baffling to me.
With such a powerhouse of a voice that is filled with raw emotion Nathanson is incredibly skilled at delivering a charged performance, even on such a slow song. Angel is short, only a minute and 32 seconds but after one listen, one GOOD listen, eyes closed, lights down, just absorbing the lyrics the deep pain can really be felt. And the simple talent that Nathanson possess can be really be felt.
Go listen now, and remember to dig for more of his lesser known albums.
Happy Listening!
